This year, somehow mother nature decided to skip fall down here in Louisiana, those cool dry days when you can open your windows and it feels just perfect, instead, [...] Continue Reading…

Colorado July 23-26

The trip for me begins with a flight to Denver from New Orleans. This was spur of the moment trip, which means we decided just a little over a month ago to do it, so I could get a cheap flight out. David and I plan to ride to Ouray where my sister lives and then on to Cripple Creek. The last day of our ride we plan to ride up to Mount Evans, which I believe has the highest elevation road in the U.S. [...] Continue Reading…

Local Rides

Most of our rides are local, but that does not mean they are not fun and interesting. For some reason things just seem more interesting when you are riding your motorcycle. Perhaps because you are part of your environment you notice things a little bit more. I guess everything is better on a motorcycle.
Here are a few pictures from some of our recent rides.

On the road again

May 21st, 2009 | No Comments

By Craig Carter

Now that I have acquired a bike that I’ve thought about since my early days, I find myself in a state of detachment from work, girlfriend and other life events because I now find myself in a position that forces me to constantly update my plans and dreams to the next riding adventure and trust me, with the characters that I ride with, every trip is an adventure. [...] Continue Reading…

A Few Comments About Small Group Riding

May 16th, 2009 | No Comments

By Ray Parden

A few weeks ago my Louisiana friends, Craig, Moak, and I took a ride down to the Mississippi coast. I was the designated leader of the ride, which is something I don’t have a lot of experience at because until recently I did most of my riding here in Louisiana alone and when I’m riding in Colorado my brother David or brother in law Allen lead the ride. [...] Continue Reading…

Buying a Motorcycle

Recently I had the pleasure of helping a very good friend buy a motorcycle. Actually, I was just there for moral support and to offer what advice I am capable of providing. My buddy, Craig Carter’s dream bike was a ” Harley Cop Bike” and as luck would have it the day we decided to take a trip down to Mike Bruno’s Harley Davidson in Slidell Louisiana was shortly after they had gotten back about 40 leased bikes from the New Orleans Police Department. It was a pretty impressive site seeing all those 07 Road Kings lined up in the store and outside in the parking lot. That first trip was just to test the waters since we didn’t know what to expect, but it certainly gave us something to think about. [...] Continue Reading…

Have You Ever Dropped Your Bike?

March 28th, 2009 | 1 Comment

By Ray Parden

I wish I could say that I’ve never dropped my bike, but I can’t. In fact I can’t even say that I’ve only dropped it once. All I can do is thank God that I had taken the motorcycle-training course, which taught me how to pick it up after I had dropped it, because my Harley Road King weighs over 700 pounds. First, I should tell you that I am not a seasoned rider. I had owned a 650 BSA back in the 70’s, which I only dropped twice, once on ice and once when I got on it when I was very angry and gave it full throttle and somehow it went straight up and straight down, but it did calm me down a bit when that happened. Over 30 years later I am riding again. [...] Continue Reading…

Riding with a Friend

February 11th, 2009 | No Comments

by Ray Parden

When I was in college my Dad co-signed a loan for me so I could buy a motorcycle, that was my first bank loan and my first bike, a BSA 650 Thunderbolt. That was over thirty years ago. My brother David, co-administrator of this site, had a bike when he was young as well. After years of dreaming, in 2005 David and I decided that we needed to ride again and soon we each had a Harley Roadking. [...] Continue Reading…
