Loveland to Deadwood - August 2006

This was a great trip. As usual I was apprehensive about riding a rented bike, but Harley fly and ride is a pretty good deal with only 1000 in liability if something should go wrong. As luck would have it, the morning that I was to pick up the bike was the first day of the Loveland motorcycle rally, which meant there would be a crowd on hand when I went to get the bike. David dropped me off early, about 8:30 since he had to drive back home and get his bike, so I had to hang around until nine when they unlocked the doors. There were a lot of people there already for the rally, so I made a pile of all my gear and hung out by the front doors. Finally I got in, but a couple managed to get to the counter before I did, so I had to wait my turn for the bike. The paper work was short and sweet and in a few minutes I was standing next to a dark red electroglide loading my gear.
